fashion-my weakness

So it turns out that fashion is my weakness (second to love, ofcourse). On the weekend I bought a pair of gorgeous lace up shoe booties with my last pennies. It's something nobody would understand. According to my boyfriend, that could've been used on something way better, so I pose the question: what could possibly be better than anything at the moment of spotting the perfect pair of shoes for winter (in my case 80% of items i spot and buy are the "perfect" whatever), well nothings better-ask any fashionista the world over.

Anything thats sequins, camouflage, tweed, check or polkadots need to be feature items, and should not consist of your entire cupboard because then you're heading for disaster. It is true that too much of something's bad (not too many clothes, but you get the idea). Basics like a white vest, dark skinnies, a crisp white shirt, a trench coat, a cardigan, a sharp point shoe, a round toe shoe, a flat boot, a stilleto...items you can dress up and down and use to complete an outfit.

I'm loving the military look all over again, maxi tee's and floral (still), nude shades, heeled hiking and riding boots, black stockings (again), forest green
and am currently on the look out for the "perfect" pair of flared jeans.

Just admit it, you're fashionably gay

It's true, that women dress for other women. 20% of the time it's for men (on occasion). When a woman gets dressed she always wonders what other people(uhm women) will think of what she's wearing and how she looks on the whole. Admit it, the female species care what others think and enjoy mentally sizing up, comparing, what ever you want to call it. Look at red carpet events, it's the women who dress to the tee, and men too, but more so the women. Then you have tv shows like "fashion police" on E!Entertainment who crit what the galz of tinseltown wear. It's obvious: Fashion was created for women to hate that they love other women's clothes. The irony of it all is that Fashion Forerunners were men: Giorgio Armani, Marc Jacobs, Dolce and Gabbanna, Balenciaga...

When people laugh at other's who dress "different" I think to myself: "Do you realise that you're actually the stupid one, because you're laughing at someone expressing their individuality while you too caught up trying to be like someone else." Instead i laugh at those who have it all wrong.

I admire people being different and just themselves, especially through their dress sense. So often I want to go up to them and say something at the risk of seeming forward and sometimes I do but most of the time I hold back...but it's a new year, everywhere I go, my camera follows. I will be getting streetwise with street style this fashion year.

I'm absolutely loving maxi dresses and skirts paired with chunky platform heels aswell as tight high waist skirts and vests tucked in. flowy little dresses and lace numbers, preferrably short have my heart.

call me Gypsy

I'm not too sure but it is a gypsy who looks into a christal ball and tells your fortune, right? Well, call me a gypsy then. I've been having premonitions about the fashion year: 2011. The year inbetween the 'hit' year-2010 and the "end of the world" year-2012.

Every day I have been having a vision about wich trends will be repeating itself in 2011. This strikes me as strange, being an average fashionista-small-town-girl, I mean, you probabaly thinking who am I to dictate what trends will cast in 2011, but then again, I'm anything but average-though being from a small town, I have a huge heart and upsize of that imagination like you can't imagine. haha.

So here goes my list of fashion predictions for 2011:

polkadots

cats eye glasses

dungarees

eastern couture

frills/venetian style

Big hair, waves and middle paths

wide leg pants

wedge heels...and

ballet pumps (again, bleh)

p.s, my predictions could be right or wrong...it doesn't really matter, all I really care about 2011 fashion is that us fashionistas have something (super) decent to wear that suits and that when other's look at us they'd be like, "I can't imagine myself wearing that but she looks great in it"

I love the way we lie

Today I feel like shit and my heart's breaking just a little bit. Let me rephrase that, today i look like shit and my heart's breaking just a little bit. I'll never understand why, when You feel down, you dress down (or perhaps thats just me).I've been lied to in the same breath as well, "you so good to me"...you don't do that, it's just not right.

It's been a rather quiet day, except for my heart wailing. I'm feeling somewhat frastrated like a girl in a box, yeah, that's a perfect way to describe what I feel like...I think I need a sewing machine to relieve myself of the world and it's stress, note-not my stress-the world's stress.

But, have no fear, fashion is here to console;)

Just Because...

I am a "just because" kind of girl. Sometimes I do things, well...just because. Don't get me wrong, I do believe in doing things within reason each and every time but i have those odd moments where I feel like doing things for the f## of it. So how does this relate to fashion in any sense, well, my message is simple: when you feel like whatever it is that u feeling like wearing, just go with it.your heart never lies. You never know who might fall inlove with your outfit that day :)

I heart it all
