Imitation is the best form of flattery

The only person I'll ever copy is my fbf, Shauna, only because we're so insync that some days we wear the same clothes or certain items without having had any contact that particular day. Although it's been happening for as long as I remember, we're both still amazed by it each time it happens. Likewise when we shop, we tend to buy the same thing whether we're together or not.

However,I don't take to kindly to people (particularly girls) who try to be like other's though; I've learnt that "imitation is the best form of flattery" but the best form you could possibly take is without a doubt - yourself. So, being in the design industry where one is almost forced to be different, I encourage even the man on the street to be different, in fact, just be.

So inlove with my new shoes

The blazer that Onie is wearing is her grans from 30 years ago, can you believe? She might just give it to me, my fingers are crossed!

I'm falling inlove with sheer fabric more and more with each encounter with it, just need the courage to wear it again :/

Shauna and I attended a fashion show competition for charity last night hosted by Hudson Park High School showcasing their
student-designers pieces. I especially went to see a fashionisto friend of mine's designs, Quaid, but sad to say that he didn't walk away with the prize this time around even though he was thee showstopper of the evening with his "Girls run the world" inspired range  consisting of black and white lacey numbers, thigh high opaque tights, platforms, exaggerated make up and hair - quite high fashion and very intriguing.

The winner, however, deserved to win since her concept and creativity earned her a win (I have no pictures though, sorry). Her pieces were made entirely out of waste products one would never have thought possible to produce a garment out of. That was quite clever but I was still dissapointed and skeptical of the judges who put Quaid in 3rd place, and I'm going to be loud about this: they didn't have much of an idea of what defines 'fashion' because second place was taken by a designer who was dressed better than her models wearing her range, doesn't make any sense at all.

Nontheless, it was an eventful evening of highs and lows. Check out the pics below of my two favourites, Yonela and Quaid.

I have an overactive imagination, but no help needed, thanks

I wish that when ever I have an idea about a specific ensemble, that I could just get a vision of just where to find the items which make up my imaginary ensemble. I guess finding the perfect pieces to go together is a matter of trial and error, so I figured that the best and wiser thing to do when attending an important 'do' would be to start looking way before the time so that you are sure about every last part of your look down to your lip colour! And that's exactly what i plan to do for my cousins 21st birthday that's coming up in September. Instead of clothing shopping, I'm going back to basics - fabric shopping - the heart of any garment.

The theme is 'Spring Blossom Soiree' and I haven't a clue what to wear, even if the most obvious choice would be floral but it's a serious case of: been there, overworn the t-shirt (or dress, vest and brogues to be melodramatic). But as I sit here, I'm getting an idea >>>> Van Gogh inspired printed fabric called 'painterly'. The item I'll have made is yet to be decided upon.

Just a taste of my idea for the abovementioned fabric

Painterly inspired eye make up, wow wow wow

On the hunt for a gawdy necklace such as this one

fashionfool hearts feathers!

My first feather neckpiece (of many more to come) I absolutely love love love

I'm lucky to have a colleague who shares my love for fashion. This is my part inspiration, part teddybear with some catchy sense of style, Onie.

The bolero and jumpsuit are both thrifted, the belt and bag are from Edgars and the model is an angel:) Heart u Onie

Everyday should be a weekend day:)

Had a beautiful weekend spent with special people, dinner-dating, shopping, laughing, finding super cute stuff and spent inlove. Best weekend by far.

This must be mine and Shauna's best buy this weekend! Been searching high and low for clogs and finally we find these heart steals...love

My Sunday swag

How cool are these colours?

Thinking of wearing this skirt with a cute vest, preferrably a white one with a huge pocket on the side(when I find one)
